ROV Reservoir Inspections

Aquavision Services reservoir inspections provide a full internal real-time visual of the internal condition of potable water reservoirs.

During the inspections we are able to identify internal structural abnormalities, internal piping configurations, water circulation, sediment buildup on walls/floors and general water quality observations.

During inspections, real-time video is recorded and used in conjunction with the above mentioned factors for determining an appropriate time for reservoir cleaning, required maintenance and any other requirements that might result.

ROV inspections have played a key role in monitoring periods between cleaning cycles, providing a visual account of any changes that might have occurred unexpectedly.

What does an ROV inspection invole?

Our experienced ROV pilot and ROV ... and a water system operator ... is all that is required. Internal inspections are done within the proximity of the entry hatch and the ROV is controlled remotely topside.

What can the ROV see during the inspection?

Inspections provide detailed views of all accessable internal components walls / floor / columns / inlets / outlets / drains / overflow / valves / circulation devices etc.

What about confined space entry procedures?

Access to CONFINED SPACE with NO confined space entry ... all inspections are done from topside within the proximity of the entry hatch.

Does the reservoir need to be shut down?

ROV inspections DO NOT require the reservoir to be taken offline and there in NO disruption to continued service.

Contamination concerns?

There is NO HUMAN entry into the reservoir and with extensive unit sterilization ... there is no possible change of water contamination. Our equipment is ONLY for potable water use.

Costs related to draining the tank and inspecting?

ROV technology eliminates the intensive costs associated with conventional internal reservoir inspections ... eliminating excessive labor, confined space entry and disruption to service.

How many reservoirs can be inspected in a day?

Depending on the size of the reservoirs, accessibility, and proximity of other reservoirs requiring inspections, we can cover a multiple of sites in a day onsite.

What is the recommended frequency of inspections?

Depending on water quality and observations from initial ROV inspection, most clients that use our service are on a two year rotation. But it totally depends on the clients preferences and water quality issues, some are on a yearly rotation.
